Fort Smith Country Club first opened for play in 1903. The course was designed by Alex Findlay. This is the second oldest course west of the Mississippi.
It is a fairly flat course with trees, bunkers and wind that come into play. The course is challenging for all skill levels. Par for the course is 35. The course plays to 2,398 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 1, a par-5 that plays to 456 Yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 3, a par-3 that plays to 116 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, a 421 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at the Fort Smith Country Club Golf Course is # 3, the 116 yard par-3. The signature hole is #6, a 122-yard, par 3, requiring a downhill tee shot over water and through a wooded area to an elevated green.
Ladies play from the same set of tees as the men. Additional sets of tees (basically same distance but different angle to the fairway/green) can be used for those who wish to play a double loop eighteen hole round.
